In 1999 the author and his wife trekked to Kalapathar, enjoying a wonderful Nepalese adventure and the fullfilling of a life long dream. In 2003 they were fortunate enough to return, this time with their adult children, for a family adventure that saw them reaching the top of Gokyo Ri. The book combines both trips in a series of spectacular photos and includes a part travelogue and part introspective account of the journey to a magical place.
All in all, it sure beats the usual misplaced photo album, or, trying to find the slide projector to describe to anyone, the sheer fun of doing adventuresome things with people you love.
